The biggest day in the University of Birmingham triathlon club calendar is fast approaching, and this year, it has been elevated to new heights. The aquathlon, which involves a 400-metre swim followed by a 5K run, will take place on Saturday, February 22.
The swim is in the state-of-the-art UoB sports and fitness pool, before the run takes place around campus, finishing under Old Joe. This year, the triathlon club is really trying to make it a university-wide, community-centred event.
Demand has been high and the event has sold out for the first time, despite extra places being opened up. Nonetheless, the club are urging people to come and support the event. The more people that can come onto campus the better, and create a great atmosphere for the athletes.
