The BBC Good Food Show, Winter Edition arrived at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) from the 25th – 28th November. Across the four days, they introduced visitors to the likes of British Bake-Off winner Nadiya Hussain, the Hairy Bikers and many other guest chefs, bakers, and culinary professionals.

The BBC Good Food Show was a one-stop shop for all things food

With so much on offer, it was hard to know where to start. As I got lost in the maze of stalls available, I found myself indulging in a seemingly endless number of samples. From gin to popcorn and from chocolate to chutney – it was a food lover’s dream. There was also a variety of cuisines ranging from different parts of the world. To name just a few, there were stalls with Indian, Nigerian, and Jamaican treats all under one roof. The BBC Good Food Show was a one-stop shop for all things food.

If you are planning to head down to the Good Food Show in the future, get down and try ‘Yummy Yank’s Brownie Snaps’. I left the NEC unable to forget the moreish snack, described as ‘the thin, crispy snappy cookie that tastes like the edge of a brownie but that’s as far as it goes.’ Even if chocolate is not your thing, it is a must-try. The Good Food Show catered to everybody, from your non-dairy alternatives to gluten-free options. There was something there for everyone to indulge in.

The event was not exclusive to food stalls, as we saw several kitchen utensils and accessories holding live demonstrations. Stalls were showcasing products that were available to purchase on the day and interacting with passers-by. I do not think I have wanted a stretchy lid quite as much as I do right now, which was just one of many exhibitors present on the day. There were also several hands-on workshops on offer, ranging from cocktail hours to gingerbread decorating and festive beers.

Returning to celebrate their 30th anniversary one year on as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, with a huge turnout despite the adverse weather conditions. With the chance to win a goodie bag all by showing off your best moves, what more could you ask for? The BBC Good Food Show also offered the opportunity to watch celebrity chefs recreate some of their famous dishes live and in-person, just in time to learn some new recipes ahead of the festive season.
