Hailing from the Wirral, three-piece grunge rock band The Mysterines are embarking on a mostly sold-out tour across February. The band has previously supported the likes of Miles Kane, Royal Blood and The Amazons. They play the Castle and Falcon in Birmingham on Thursday 27th of February for what promises to be an electric and powerful live performance.

They are characterised by Lia Metcalfe’s brooding and strong vocals

The Mysterines were named by NME as one of the top 100 bands for 2020 and they are fronted by Lia Metcalfe on guitar, with George Favager on bass and Chrissy Moore on drums. Their first EP begins with the title track ‘Take Control’ which has over 1 million streams on Spotify; it is sure to be a crowd pleaser at the upcoming show. The Mysterines move between infectiously upbeat tracks like latest single ‘Love’s Not Enough’ and their grittier songs like ‘Hormone’ and standout punk single, ‘Who’s Ur Girl’. They are characterised by Lia Metcalfe’s brooding and strong vocals and insistent drum beats which prevail in each song.

The Castle and Falcon is a venue with a capacity smaller than most, so it will be exhilarating seeing them in such an intimate setting. Whilst they are recent to the music scene, The Mysterines are already captivating, channelling the rage of the youth into their, at times, darkly gripping tracks. Their performance is sure to be high-energy, bringing their passion to the stage.
