As Christmas approaches, The Jonas Brothers join the fray of acts releasing potential Christmas number ones, Music Critic Abigail Henderson reviews
After only reuniting earlier this year and already being nominated for a Grammy for Best Group Performance, the Jonas Brothers are taking the world by storm once again. Their comeback onto the music scene has included a not only a number one single and a chart-topping album, they also won their first VMA – pretty impressive.
Their newest single, ’Like It’s Christmas’, was released earlier this month. This tune slots perfectly into the genre of cheesy Christmas singles, that we all secretly love. Over hand claps and electric guitar, the married brothers tell a love story about how the people that they are with make it feel like the holiday season all through the year. This plays off the nice idea that Christmas isn’t just a day, it is a feeling and a state of mind. Despite being a part of the Christmas single frenzy, it really does feel like a genuine Jonas Brothers track – if you stripped away the festive sounds and season-related lyrics, you are left with a pop song authentic to their typical sound. Watch out – this is about to become your newest ear worm in the coming weeks building up to Christmas.
